Dr Sakib Khan

Dr Sakib Khan is a recognised leader in hydrogen energy and emerging energy technology strategy, with over two decades of experience across new energy technology development, policy advisory, and commercial execution. A co-author of South Africa’s first national hydrogen and fuel cell strategy, Dr Khan has helped shape the country’s clean energy direction and continues to advise global and local industry and government on green industrialisation, ESG and decarbonisation pathways.

He has held senior management positions in leading international and South African technology-driven companies, where he led the development of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure, fuel cell commercialisation, and local manufacturing strategies. Dr Khan works with startups and scale-ups—both locally and globally—on market entry, localisation, and product development, helping translate technical innovation into commercial impact.

In addition to his work in the energy space, Dr Khan serves on the advisory board of an AI-driven analytics company, where he provides strategic guidance on the intersection of artificial intelligence and industrial transformation. His cross-sector insight bridges deep domain knowledge with a forward-looking perspective on digital and technology convergence.
